Ultimate Playpen Barrier - Why won't my barrier fold flat for storage?

Modified on Wed, 2 Jul at 2:35 PM

If you've added an extra 65cm panel to your Ultimate Playpen Barrier, you might notice that the playpen no longer folds flat for storage like it does in its original configuration. This is a common question and relates to the way the panels and hardware are designed.

Why doesn’t it fold flat with the extra panel?

The playpen’s folding function is based on an alternating panel configuration that allows it to concertina neatly for storage. This alternation relies on the way the panels connect using fixed and rotating joints.

Currently, we only sell A-side panels as separate extensions. Adding an A-side panel to a system that requires alternating A/B panels disrupts the pattern, which means the playpen can no longer fold flat when stored.

Can this be fixed?

Although it's not possible to restore the original flat-folding function when an extension is added, we are reviewing customer feedback and collaborating with our Product Team to explore future improvements.

Some customer suggestions under review include:

  • Offering both A-side and B-side panel types to maintain proper alternation and folding
